DILG–AKLAN ASSISTS LGU TANGALAN IN 2026–2028 POPS PLAN FORMULATION
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)–Aklan assisted in the formulation of the Local Government Unit of Tangalan’s Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan for 2026–2028 through a 2-day planning workshop held at the Tangalan Municipal Hall on August 13-14, 2025.
Tangalan Municipal Mayor, Hon. Gene T. Fuentes and Tangalan MLGOO, LGOO VI Ronald T. Rogan, Jr., closely oversaw the workshops, as the activity gathered the Technical Working Group of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC), including representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), municipal offices, barangays, and civil society organizations.
During the workshop, DILG–Aklan Personnel LGOO II Rayshel Mae Elitiong and LGOO II Leny Dela Luna guided participants in assessing local crime trends, and other safety concerns, and in crafting strategies and programs that address these issues. The plan integrates community-based solutions, strengthens law enforcement and conflict resolution mechanisms, and aligns with national peace and order priorities.
Through this collaborative approach, Tangalan’s POPS Plan aims to provide a clear roadmap for maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and fostering resilience in the municipality over the next three years.
