“MAY BIBIDA SA AKLAN”
More than two thousand (2000) individuals from all over the Province of Aklan participated in the Provincial Launching of Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on April 26, 2023 at the Augusto B. Legaspi (ABL) Sports and Cultural Center, Kalibo, Aklan with the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, Atty. Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Jr. as the Guest of Honor.
The said activity was also graced by DILG Undersecretary for Operations Atty. Lord A. Villanueva, DILG Regional Director Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero, CESO IV, DILG Aklan Provincial Director Dino A. Ponsaran, the key officials of LGU Aklan, and the Regional and Provincial Directors of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), NAPOLCOM and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) respectively.
The BIDA-related activities were organized and made possible thru the partnership of DILG-Aklan, Aklan Provincial Government, PNP, BJMP, PDEA, BFP, as well as all the Local Chief Executives and the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) in the Province.

SILG Abalos emphasized the importance of galvanizing the community, duty-bearers, and stakeholders to take urgent action to protect the rights of the people by strengthening its efforts on drug use prevention, rehabilitation, and control.
“Ipagpatuloy natin ang intensive operations and campaign natin laban sa illegal na droga. Patuloy tayong lumapit sa mga mamamayan upang ipaintindi sa kanila ang masamang epekto ng droga.”
He also congratulated the Province of Aklan for having all of its barangays, 327/327, declared as drug-cleared/drug-free.
The Province of Aklan, being the first province to launch the BIDA Program in Region VI, encourages the support of the whole nation in the implementation towards the attainment of peaceful, safe, progressive, resilient and inclusive communities towards a drug free Philippines.
