DILG-AKLAN, AKLAN PROVINCE CSO DESK OFFICE, AND SP AKLAN FACILITATE PROVINCIAL CSO CONFERENCE
The Department of the Interior and Local Government-Aklan, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Aklan’s Civil Society Organization (CSO) Desk Officer, and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Aklan, successfully facilitated the conduct of the Provincial CSO Conference held at the Corazon L. Cabagnot Cultural and Training Center, Kalibo, Aklan.
The activity gathered various accredited CSOs from across the province, creating a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and capacity building. The conference aimed to strengthen citizen participation in local governance, in line with the Department’s advocacy for participatory governance and inclusive development.
The facilitating agencies emphasized the critical role of CSOs in promoting transparency, accountability, and community empowerment. He/she also highlighted the importance of sustained partnerships between the government and civil society in achieving grassroots development goals.
Key provincial officials, including representatives from the Aklan PGO and SP-Aklan, also expressed their support for the continued engagement of CSOs in policy-making and local development planning.
Through the activity, DILG-Aklan and its partners reaffirm their commitment to strengthening participatory governance and ensuring that civil society remains a vital stakeholder in building a transparent, accountable, and inclusive local government system.
