BALAY SILANGAN LAUNCHING IN MAKATO, AKLAN
"Today marks another milestone in our quest in addressing the perennial problem of illegal drugs in our country. We are gathered here today for the launching of the Balay Silangan of the Municipality of Makato. This launching is a profound materialization of the progress that we have made for the past few years here in Makato and in the Province of Aklan in our fight against illegal drugs." This was the opening message of DILG Aklan Provincial Director, Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista, CESO V during the Inauguration of Balay Silangan Reformation Center of Makato, Aklan today, October 3, 2022.
The activity started with ribbon cutting and unveiling of Balay Silangan Marker. It was followed by a blessing officiated by the Parish Priest of the Most Holy Name of Jesus.
Balay Silangan, a community-based reformation program aimed at rehabilitating surrendered drug personalities, seeks to build temporary shelters for drug offenders with the objective of reforming them into self-sufficient and law-abiding members of society.
Present in the said activity was Makato Municipal Mayor Ramon Anselmo Martin D. Legaspi III together with Dir. II Alex M Tablate, Regional Director of PDEA VI, PLT. COL Alvin V Ballo, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration and LGOO VI Juvy S. Rasco, MLGOO of Makato.
