AKLANON TANODS BAG AWARDS DURING THE 33RD LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE MONTH CELEBRATION
The Tanods of Barangay Dangcalan, Malinao, Aklan were recognized and awarded as the REGIONAL 1ST RUNNER-UP in the 2024 Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod – 4th-6th Class Municipalities.
For the individual category, Barangay Tanod Jose Renie Colindon of Brgy. Union, Nabas, Aklan was recognized and awarded as the REGIONAL 2ND RUNNER-UP in the 2024 Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod.
The exemplary Tanods of the Province of Aklan received their awards during the 33rd Local Government Code Month Celebration at Robinson’s Place Mall, Pavia, Iloilo.
The search aims to recognize the best-performing Barangay Tanods in the Western Visayas region for their exemplary work in implementing and managing peace and order, public safety, and disaster risk reduction and management programs, under the initiatives of agencies within the DILG Family.
The on-site validation included the presentation of accomplishments, evaluation of supporting documents, inspection of the Tanod office, headquarters, and outposts, review of support facilities and equipment, and skills demonstrations in the following areas: (1) First Aid, (2) Arrest Techniques, (3) Rescue/Emergency Response, (4) Self-defense, and (5) Firefighting.
