DILG-AKLAN CELEBRATES THE 2024 NATIONAL WOMEN'S MONTH
As support to women empowerment and gender equality, the Department of the Interior and Local Government did more than simply wearing something purple on all Fridays of March.
JUANA ++
In celebration of Women's Day, DILG Aklan through its Aklan Provincial Local Governance Resource Center (APLGRC) launched the JUANA ++ Program.
JUANA ++ is a program DILG Aklan initiates as a one-year inclusive approach to gender equality and women empowerment. This program aims to provide opportunities for all genders to address gender equality and include them as steerers of peace and security in society.
With this program, the celebration of Women’s Month does not only focus in empowering women but include all genders. Therefore, achieving its mantra, no one is left behind.
As part of the JUANA ++ program launching, JuanDAMOVES (DILG Aklan Men Opposing Violence Everywhere alwayS) was conducted. This activity activates its male personnel to be at the forefront of promoting a women-friendly environment by signing the Pledge of Commitment.

DILG Aklan through its Aklan Provincial Local Governance Resource Center (APLGRC) and in celebration of 2024 National Women’s Month, conducted SerbisyoparakayJuana++:#JUANA++NaWalangKapa (Not All Heroes Wear Capes) at Stimulation Therapeutic Activity Center (STAC)- Kalibo on March 20, 2024.
This was an initiative of DILG-Aklan to honor mothers (and fathers and other members of the family) behind the children with different abilities considering their “heroic acts” of rearing them. DILG-Aklan identified STAC-Kalibo, a learning institution that caters to children with special needs, as a recipient of a “feel-good package.”
The activity helped parents and child development teachers be recognized for their invaluable services and relentless compassion in providing the needs of children with special different abilities.
