DILG-AKLAN CELEBRATES THE 33RD LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE MONTH
LOCAL GOVERNANCE QUIZ | DILG-Aklan, through its Aklan Provincial Local Governance Resource Center (APLGRC), in partnership with the Province of Aklan, Provincial Youth Development Office, Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan ng Aklan and Partner LRIs conducted the 2024 Local Governance Quiz – Student and LGU Category on October 8, 2024 at the NVC Gymnasium, Kalibo, Aklan.
Participating Students were from Garcia College of Technology, Aklan Catholic College, Northwestern Visayan Colleges, STI College Kalibo, and Aklan State University. While the LGU participants includes representatives per team, namely: Team 1 (Kalibo, Batan, Altavas, and New Washington), Team 2 (Banga, Madalag, Libacao, and Balete), Team 3 (Lezo, Numancia, Makato, Tangalan, Malinao), and Team 4 (Buruanga, Ibajay, Malay, Nabas).
The quiz was divided into three rounds, the easy, average and difficult rounds. The questions covered the Provisions of Local Government Code and DILG Major Programs. Provincial Director Dino A. Ponsaran, CESO V, CAO Ma. Eleanor T. Antiquera, and OIC-LGCDD Chief LGOO VI Anthony Ian G. Andaleza served as the Panel of Judges.
The teams that came out victorious in the Student Category were: Garcia College of Technology as the champion; Aklan State University as the 2nd placer; and Northwestern Visayan Colleges as the 3rd placer. For the LGU Category, the winners were: Team 4 (Malay, Buruanga, Nabas, Ibajay) as the Champion; Team 3 (Malinao, Numancia, Makato, Lezo, Tangalan) as the 2nd Placer; and Team 2 ( Madalag, Balete, Banga, Libacao) as the 3rd Placer.
